Scentwork is another thing that Pointers are very good at, and they love it too. They start off with the scent of cloves, then gun oil, and then I think it is truffle oil. Ghillie took to it straight away. Scentwork U.K. run Trials and Ghillie passed his Level 1 Trial in September, even though he hadn’t been to a class since March, with a score of 99.3%. For this he had to 1) find the scent which is hidden in tables and chairs; 2) find it in boxes, bags, or cases; 3) find it hidden on a vehicle; 4) find it on miscellaneous objects outside. The scent is on a small piece of cloth. We will be working towards Level 2
